We volunteer to keep Central Oregon safe.

Who are we?

The Central Oregon Pain Guide is a project of the Pain Standards Task Force, a group a volunteers working with the Central Oregon Health Council to combat the opioid crisis while supporting great patient care and support for those with chronic pain.

We’re always looking for passionate individuals to join our task force.

Full disclosure: We meet on the first Wednesday of every month at 7am because many of our members are practicing providers. Community members welcome.

FAQs

Who pays for all this?

The Central Oregon Health Council is responsible for the Pain Standards Task Force. They provide the budget, the staff support, and the reputation in the community to make this possible.

Will you endorse legislation?

Because we are a group of volunteers representing private entities, government, and individual community members, we are unable to officially support political efforts. We are willing to endorse non-political resources, such as pain prescribing guidelines, upon review.

How come provider events are free?

We are a nonprofit, but we don’t fundraise. Our budget comes directly from PacificSource Community Solutions as a part of our contract, so we really don’t need your money. All we ask is that you show up. We’ll take care of the rest.

Do you award grants?

We have one grant program that supports getting Naloxone into the hands of community and government organizations, including syringe exchanges, police departments, substance abuse prevention services, and more. Our application cycle opens in the summertime. Click here to read more.

Who are the volunteers for this? Can I sign up?

Volunteers come from local clinics, public health, and even the community. We’re always open to making new friends - visit our Contact page to get in touch with a facilitator about joining.
